Departing members : Francesco Galvagno (ETHZ, M. Gaberdiel’s Group), Matthis Lehmkühler (ETHZ, V. Tassion’s Group) & Christoforos Panagiotis (UNIGE, H. Duminil-Copin’s Group)

26 Oct 2023

Francesco Galvagno has joined Queen Mary University of London for a postdoctoral position. His research there focuses on the computation of holographic correlators in superconformal field theories with extended supersymmetry.

Matthis Lehmkühler starts a joint Postdoc position at the University of Basel (with Aurelien Lucchi) and at IBM Research Zürich (with Stefan Woerner and David Sutter) on theoretical aspects of variational quantum computing (funded by an SNSF grant).

Christoforos Panagiotis has taken up an Assistant Professor position at the University of Bath in the UK, where he will form a new group dedicated to percolation theory. His research will primarily focus on developing new percolation representations for lattice spin models.

Phase I & II research project(s)

  • String Theory
  • Field Theory
  • Statistical Mechanics

Phase III direction(s)

  • Statistical Mechanics and Random Structures
  • Spectral gap problems in non-perturbative quantum theory
  • Holography and bulk-boundary correspondence

Registration for the 2024 Winter School in Mathematical Physics, (SRS, 7-12 Jan) now open.
