Departing member: Arthur Jacot (EPFL, C. Hongler's Group)

26 Sep 2022

Our member Arthur Jacot who was a PhD student at EPFL in C. Hongler's Group, has started as a tenure-track Assistant Professor at the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, NYU.

His main affiliation is with the Math department of the CIMS, with a joint affiliation with the Center for Data Science (CDS).

He plans to continue working on the theory of deep learning / mathematical analysis of deep neural networks, with a focus on understanding how DNNs learn representations and under which conditions these representations are sparse.

We wish all the best for his next steps.

Phase I & II research project(s)

  • Statistical Mechanics

New member: Leonard Hardiman (EPFL, C. Hongler's Group)

Departing member: Tomas Reis (UNIGE, M. Mariño's Group)
