New Members : Elisabetta Armanini, Adrien Martina,Veronica Sacchi & Kexing Ying (EPFL)

1 Apr 2024

Welcome to Elisabetta, Adrien, Veronica and Kexin !

Elisabetta completed her bachelor's and master's degree in physics at the University of Parma. Since her Master's studies, her interests mostly lie on the Quantum Field Theory side, in particular the study of supersymmetric and superconformal field theories and their application in AdS/CFT correspondence.

Adrien works on high-energy theory and explored the BMN matrix quantum mechanics model, uncovering supergravitons in the strong coupling limit. Now, as a PhD student, he is continuing to explore the possibility of characterizing M-theory through the framework of matrix quantum mechanics.

Veronica studied for her Bachelor and Master degree in Physics at the University of Pisa and Scuola Normale Superiore. She completed her master thesis with an exchange at the University of Amsterdam where she was supervised by Professor Eleni A. Kontou. She is now working as a PhD on the development of Quantum Field Theory in de Sitter; on more general terms, she’s very interested into strong dynamics of gravity, particularly towards its relation with chaos.

Kexing is interested in the stochastic differential equations and their generation of random dynamical systems. Before beginning his PhD, he completed his masters (part III) at the University of Cambridge and before that, completed his bachelors at the Imperial College. He’s also involved in the Lean theorem prover community.
