Mathscope at EMF2018 & Matrix 2018

12 Nov 2018

Mathscope was present with a stand showing their work at both, EMF2018 (Paris Gennevilliers, 22-26 October) and Matrix (Barcelona, 29-31 October).

Co-organised by the MoMath of New York and a local science center (this year the Mmaca), Matrix brought together people from all around the world dedicated to the dissemination of mathematics for the general public.

Every 3 years, the colloquium EMF (Espace Mathématique francophone) brings together didactic researchers, teachers and practitioners of teaching and popularisation of science from the entire Francophone countries.

New this year, the workshops « Actions et Manifestations » (Actions and Demonstration) were scheduled during the breaks and some specific slots, allowing the speakers to discover several activities presented by le Palais de la découverte (Paris), la Grange des maths (Grenoble) and, of course, the Mathscope, among others.

And on Wednesdays, activities were offered by the day care centre of Gennevilliers, for children. Our member, Shaula Fiorelli, was in charge of coordinating the organisation of these «Actions et Manifestations » workshops.

Furthermore, our members Shaula Fiorelli and Pierre Alain Cherix also presented two contributions in the working session Étude des processus de vulgarization.
