La Nuit Antique 2023

1 May 2023

La Nuit Antique took place on 28-29 April 2023 in Geneva, along the Promenade de la Treille.

During these two days dedicated to Antiquity, the Mathscope and the Physiscope collaborated to recreate Archimedes' mirrors (200 BC). Originally designed to set fire to an enemy ship, the weapon was this time used to melt chocolate Easter bunnies.

The experiment was first tested by nearly 200 students from the canton of Geneva before being opened to all visitors of the event.
