Alumna Yilin Wang: Maryam Mirzakhani New Frontiers Prize

Alumna Yilin Wang (ETH Zurich, W. Wener's Group), currently at MIT, has been awarded the 2022 Maryam Mirzakhani New Frontiers Prize, for innovative and far-reaching work on the Loewner energy of planar curves.

 

The prize is for women in mathematics who have completed their PhDs within the previous two years.

 

Yilin was a SwissMAP Innovator Prize winner in 2018 for her remarkable and original work on the Loewner energy of planar curves and loops and she was also recipient of the 2020 ETH Medal for her doctoral thesis.
