The October 2020 issue of the IAMP News Bulletin included an article on ICMP 2021 (page 7) and on the 2020 ESI Medal our Deputy Director Anton Alekseev won (page 8).
A major activity of the ETH Math Youth Academy has been the delivery of public talks aimed at a broad audience. The goal of each talk is to communicate some nontrivial substantive piece of mathematics in an accessible way, without compromising rigor and precision of the exposition.
Don’t miss this “Beautiful Maths” online exhibition in which a group of Researchers were asked to select an image from their research and to explain why they considered their image to be beautiful.

Congratulations to our member Nina HOLDEN (ETH Zurich, W. Werner Group) who was awarded the 2021 Maryam Mirzakhani New Frontiers Prize “for work in random geometry, particularly on Liouville Quantum Gravity as a scaling limit of random triangulations.”

The Fields Institute holds the annual Fields Medal Symposium (Oct 19-23) to showcase and celebrate the work of our member Alessio Figalli (ETH Zurich), Fields Medal 2018.
